U.S. civil rights activist Jesse Jackson speaks to reporters in Havana September 29, 2013.
The first patient diagnosed with Ebola on U.S. soil, Thomas Eric Duncan, has been in critical condition since Saturday and is receiving experimental medication.
'Upon request of family of Thomas Eric Duncan, going to Dallas to bring comfort and to seek best humanitarian relief America has to offer,' Jackson said on his Twitter feed.
Texas state health officials said they are monitoring 10 people who had close contact with Duncan and 38 others who came into contact with that group to see if anyone had developed signs of infection. So far, no one has shown any symptoms, health officials said.
