The worker, a German resident, had been doing aid work in Liberia.
This comes as a Spanish nurse diagnosed with the illness is said to be in critical condition.
In the United States, a Texas nurse remains in isolation, as does her dog and another person whom she came in contact with, after testing positive for the virus.
Nina Phan had been one of the workers providing aid to Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola on U.S. soil.
The CDC is investigating how Phan became sick, despite strict protocols at the hospital.
