The death toll from the Ebola virus has now reached 3,431, the World Health Organization has revealed.

Liberia has been the worst hit by the disease with 2,069 deaths the latest report shows. Ebola has claimed 739 lives in Guinea, 623 lives in Sierra Leone and eight lives in Nigeria.

The WHO says there have been 7,470 cases recorded, including 20 in Nigeria, one in Senegal and one in the United States.
