(NBC) - A new government report finds the average life expectancy in the U.S. reached a record high of 78-point-eight years in 2012.
The ten leading causes of death Including heart disease, cancer and lower respiratory illness did not change from 2011 and accounted for almost three quarters of all deaths.
The infant mortality rate also fell to an all time low in 2012, dropping one and a half percent from the previous year.
